How to determine whether it is light steel structure or heavy steel structure?
The light steel structure is a young and vigorous steel structure system, which has been widely used in general industrial, agricultural, commercial and service buildings such as office buildings, villas, warehouses, stadiums, entertainment, tourism buildings, low and multi-storey residential buildings, and can also be used in the areas where old houses are added, reconstructed, reinforced, and lack of building materials, areas where transportation is inconvenient, construction period is tight, and activity * * buildings are favored by the owners, It mainly has the following characteristics: high efficiency light and thin wall profile, light weight, high strength and small floor area. The components are automated, continuous, high-precision production, product specification serialization, molding, and supporting. The dimensions of each part are accurate. Structural design, detailed design, computer simulation installation, factory manufacturing, on-site installation, etc. In smaller smaller.
It is true that there is no unified standard to determine the structure of heavy steel and light steel structures. Experienced designers or project managers often cannot fully understand it, but we can comprehensively consider and judge some data:
1、 Hoisting weight of the plant: ≥ 25t, which can be regarded as heavy steel structure.
2、 Steel consumption per square meter: ≥ 50KG/M 2. It can be regarded as heavy steel structure.
3、 The thickness of the steel plate of the main component is greater than or equal to 10MM, and the light steel structure is seldom used.
In addition, there are some reference values: such as the cost per square meter, the maximum component weight, the maximum span, the structural form, and the eaves height. The above can provide empirical data when judging whether the factory is heavy steel or light steel. Of course, many buildings are light steel and heavy steel now. But some of them can be said to be heavy steel: such as petrochemical plant facilities, power plants, large-span stadiums, exhibition centers, high-rise or super high-rise steel structures.
In fact, the national specifications and technical documents are not Chongqing Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. In order to distinguish light residential steel structures, ordinary steel structures can be called ordinary steel. As the scope of ordinary steel structure is very wide, it can include all kinds of steel structures, no matter the load size, or even many contents of light steel structures. The technical specification for light residential steel structures only specifies some more specific contents for its light characteristics, and the scope is limited to single-layer door frames.
Light steel is also a vague term, which generally has two understandings. First, Chapter XI "Light steel structures with round steel and small angle steel" in the current Code for Design of Steel Structures (G * * 17-88) refers to that light steel structures made of round steel and angle steel smaller than L45 * 4 and L56 * 36 * 4 are mainly used for small structures that are not suitable for reinforced concrete structures in the absence of reinforced concrete structures, which are basically not used at present, so the revision of the Code for Design of Steel Structures tends to remove them. The other is the single-layer solid web portal rigid frame structure with light roof and light exterior wall (masonry exterior wall can also be used if possible) specified in the Technical Code for Steel Structure of Single layer Solid Web Door Buildings. Light weight here mainly means that the shell is made of light material. Since the former was abolished soon, the meaning of light steel now mainly refers to the latter.
It can be seen that the difference between light steel and ordinary steel is not the weight of the structure itself, but the weight of the enclosure materials, but the concept of structural design.
